[Deutsche Bank: Meta's Cloud Business Could Unlock a $100 Billion AI Monetization Channel]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on July 3, in response to news that Meta plans to sell AI computing power and model access to external clients, Deutsche Bank believes this does not imply that Meta is weakening its cutting-edge models or 'superintelligence' strategy. Instead, it is more likely monetizing older, non-core, or temporarily idle computing power while reserving the latest generation of chips for internal training. This move could shift market concerns about Meta's 'high capital expenditures with limited revenue returns' toward a reevaluation of its new high-margin revenue options.
Based on Deutsche Bank's estimates, Meta's AI-related computing power could reach 8 to 11.5 GW by the end of 2027, with approximately 1.2 to 2.7 GW available for external sale. Assuming a 75% sales realization rate and annualized revenue of $10 billion to $15 billion per GW, Meta could generate an additional $9 billion to $30 billion in revenue by 2027, exceeding market expectations by 3% to 10%. The baseline scenario estimates approximately $17.5 billion.
