Russian central bank governor: Digital ruble to be launched on September 1st, US CBDC ban bill sent to Trump

According to Cointelegraph, Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Russian Central Bank, confirmed that the digital ruble will be launched on September 1st. This digital currency will serve as a supplement to the Russian fiat ruble and will initially be accepted by financial and credit institutions. Vladimir Chistyukhin, the First Deputy Governor of the Russian Central Bank, stated that the laws related to the digital ruble will come into effect on September 1st, with a transition period until July 2027. The housing bill in the United States, which includes a CBDC ban, has been submitted to President Trump. If the President does not sign it within 10 days, it will automatically take effect and the ban will continue until 2030.
