[Humanity Protocol Shifts to Enterprise-Level AI Business After $36 Million Hack Incident]
According to The Block, Humanity Protocol founder Terence Kwok stated that following a previous $36 million hack that led to the theft of the treasury and a sharp drop in the value of H tokens, the project is transitioning from its 'identity + blockchain' focus to enterprise-level AI products. The attack stemmed from a developer's laptop being compromised rather than a smart contract vulnerability. The attacker obtained private keys of Humanity Foundation members through phishing emails, conducted cross-chain minting, and sold the tokens, causing H tokens to plummet by approximately 89%. Kwok admitted that the likelihood of recovering the funds is 'very low.' The team plans to rebuild the ecosystem through token migration and compensation claim processes and has reported the incident to law enforcement agencies in Hong Kong and other regions. Meanwhile, they are advancing identity and asset credential products targeted at AI enterprises.
