[Google Loses Appeal in EU Court Over €4.1 Billion Android Fine] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 2, Google's long-standing battle with the EU over a €4.1 billion (approximately $4.7 billion) antitrust fine has ultimately ended in defeat. The EU's highest court ruled on Thursday that regulators were correct in penalizing the U.S. giant for abusing its dominant position in the Android system market. The European Court of Justice determined that Google's appeal against the European Commission's penalty should be dismissed. This ruling is legally binding and marks a significant victory for the regulatory body. Since the fine was first issued in 2018, the EU has been engaged in litigation with Google in EU courts. In a statement regarding the ruling, the court said: 'The appeals brought by Google and its parent company Alphabet against the General Court's judgment are dismissed, thereby upholding the penalty for Google's abuse of its dominant position in the Android operating system market through Google Search.'
