According to The Hacker News, McAfee Labs has disclosed a cryptocurrency clipboard hijacking campaign called Silent Swap. Attackers deploy a malicious Chromium browser extension disguised as 'Google Notes' through unsigned installers, replacing wallet addresses in the clipboard during user transactions and redirecting funds to wallets controlled by the attackers. McAfee states that the campaign uses EtherHiding technology to retrieve command-and-control server information via the blockchain, affecting addresses for BTC, ETH, BCH, XRP, DASH, and SOL.
