[Iranian Speaker Says Preparing for War is Necessary for Negotiations] Odaily Planet Daily News - On June 30 local time, Iran's chief negotiator and Speaker of Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated in an interview that Iran is determined to uphold the memorandum of understanding, but if the U.S. refuses to implement the consensus, Iran is prepared for war. Ghalibaf said that negotiating with the U.S. is not like talking to a friend but rather negotiating with an untrustworthy enemy. He emphasized that given the opportunity, the U.S. would undoubtedly act against Iran again. Therefore, only by being prepared for war can effective negotiations take place. Additionally, Ghalibaf refuted claims during the interview that "Iran's unfrozen funds can only be used to purchase U.S. agricultural products." He stated that this is "completely inaccurate" and that, according to the memorandum of understanding, Iran has the right to independently allocate the unfrozen funds. (CCTV International News)
