If nothing unexpected happens, there will still be an accident. I felt a little uncomfortable in my stomach around 7 o'clock this morning, and it started to hurt more and more. I thought it was because I had eaten a slightly spicy Kung Pao Chicken yesterday, which made my stomach and intestines uncomfortable, so I went to take a big one. After finishing, there was a slight relief before going downstairs. I made breakfast for my son and also drank a glass of water and over 200 milliliters of bone broth. Then quickly urge my son to wake up and take him to summer camp classes. My stomach is getting more and more painful, and I still think it's enteritis. I think it should be better to go home later and get a big one. After leaving the house for seven or eight minutes, a sudden sharp pain came from my right lower back. The pain made me break out in a cold sweat, and my eyes turned black. My intuition was that my kidney area was hurting. At the same time, the pain in the stomach also intensified. Enduring the excruciating pain, I sent my child to summer camp and hurried home because I still felt like I wanted to use the restroom. Halfway through, I was already howling in pain. I quickly called my wife and told her that I might have a problem. She asked her to prepare my insurance card and go to the emergency room with me immediately. When I rushed to the bathroom, I couldn't pull anything out. At this point, the pain was so severe that I couldn't stand. I quickly asked my wife to drive me to the emergency room. She didn't investigate carefully, and the first store hadn't opened yet. The second store said they couldn't handle it and suggested going to the hospital's emergency room. After struggling twice, I finally rushed to the hospital's emergency room half an hour later. At that time, I was already in so much pain that I couldn't straighten my waist and could hardly speak. Fortunately, the emergency department was very awesome. At the time of my wife's registration, a nurse had pushed me to the wheelchair to take my blood pressure and blood oxygen. I didn't see the blood pressure, but the blood oxygen dropped to 92. After measuring my blood pressure, the nurse immediately pushed me to the doctor's clinic. After waiting for two or three minutes, a doctor and two or three nurses arrived. The doctor may feel that my English is not good enough, so they used their remote video device to find a Chinese translator to ensure accuracy. After a detailed inquiry, they said they needed to draw blood and do an abdominal CT. An Indian male nurse who looked older immediately started drawing blood for me on site, and the consultation room did not leave. After drawing blood, my consciousness of pain was blurred, and I kept moaning loudly. Perhaps three to five minutes later, a nurse came to push me to the CT room for an abdominal CT scan. After finishing, she pushed me to a sofa and asked me to sit down to wait for the next step of treatment. Next was waiting again, and my moans never stopped. It was so painful, indescribable, and cold sweat kept coming out. It's been another 5 minutes or a few minutes, anyway it's not long. I'm so sore that I don't have the strength to look at my phone anymore. A black haired and black eyed Asian female nurse came over and said she is my nurse for today. I couldn't hear her name clearly. Next, she will inject me with morphine to relieve pain, and then add saline to replenish fluids. Quickly, she injected me with morphine intravenously. After the injection, I don't know if it was a psychological effect or if it really took effect quickly. I felt like it didn't hurt as much anymore. The next step is to hang salt water. Halfway through, I feel like the pain is acceptable, and my consciousness is basically fully awake. I even have the strength to play with my phone again. When I finished hanging a bottle, I suddenly realized that it wasn't cold anymore. I was shivering from the cold before because I couldn't put on my coat when I went out urgently. My wife wanted to put her coat on me, but the nurse stopped her. My stomach basically doesn't hurt anymore. When the second bottle was hung up, it had basically returned to normal. At the beginning, the doctor asked me to go for a urine test, but I never had the urge to urinate. After the nurse asked about my condition, she said we should go to the lobby and wait until I had the urge to urinate before sending the urine test bottle back in. I went out to sit for about half an hour and had the urge to pee. I went to the bathroom smoothly to pick up my urine and handed it to the nurse. Then I waited again. After waiting for less than half an hour, the nurse called us into the consultation area. The nurse who took over from me first brought me the test report and told me that my pain was probably caused by scratching the ureter during the process of kidney stone discharge, which caused severe pain. After CT scan, it was found that there were no stones in the kidneys, ureters, and urethra, and they may have been expelled. I told her that when she urinated just now, she did feel smooth, and she always had the urge to urinate this morning and last night, but every time she urinated a little bit. The nurse said there should be no more stones, but there are suspected traces of stones in the kidneys, swelling and inflammation in the ureters, and blood stains found on urine tests (which cannot be seen directly). Severe pain refers to the renal and abdominal pain caused by the process of stone expulsion. There shouldn't be any major issues now, but I suggest you contact your family doctor as soon as possible and have him help you with a comprehensive examination. Now, you can go home. My wife immediately contacted the family doctor's office, which we have always criticized for procrastination. The family doctor's office was surprisingly happy today and immediately arranged for us to go for a check-up at 3:30 pm. After checking the time for less than an hour, I went out to find a place to eat something light and went straight over. After talking to the family doctor, they conducted a comprehensive examination. I told him about my 5-day fasting and low water intake. He said it shouldn't have much to do with this, the formation of stones is long-term. It may be due to changes in bodily functions caused by fasting, and then the stones are automatically expelled. The process of expulsion is very painful, and if it is not expelled, you will hardly feel it. When asked if I have slow urination, I said it's true. Since the day before yesterday, I always feel like I don't urinate much and it's a bit painful. In the end, the doctor said there shouldn't be any major problem, it's just that I sit for long periods of time and drink less water. But for safety reasons, please arrange for me to be referred to the urology department for a thorough examination to rule out other possibilities. Just go home and wait for the referral arrangement. To sum up, this is my first time entering a hospital in the United States, and I have dealt with family doctors before. My impression is one word: slow. Many people online also criticize the healthcare system in the United States. However, today's emergency department completely changed my perspective. As soon as the first emergency department heard the situation, they knew they couldn't handle it and immediately told us where to go. After the second appointment, there was almost no waste of time. From the moment I entered the door, I quickly pushed forward, and the waiting time in between was actually for them to arrange the next steps, such as preparing for examinations, medication, CT scans, etc. The waiting time was only a few minutes. My intuition is that each waiting step should not exceed 10 minutes. Since registration, I have been sitting in a wheelchair, with nurses pushing me back and forth, or nurses walking up to me with medication or equipment to handle it. Until I received the intravenous drip, my condition recovered well and I was able to move freely. It only took about half an hour for me to arrive at the hospital at 10 o'clock, howling in pain until the pain was suppressed to an acceptable level. Both the doctor and the nurse had a good attitude throughout the entire process, and they even called for remote video translation to intervene in real-time in case of communication errors. Surprisingly, the Chinese translator also had a black person who translated quite accurately. In short, to be frank, this medical experience exceeded any previous experience in China. As for the bill, there's no need to settle it when we leave anyway. We don't know how much it will be until it's sent. Having insurance is not a big problem. My feeling today is: if it's all about this kind of service and efficiency, then it should be more expensive. Finally, I would like to advise everyone who sits for a long time to be more active and drink more water. This thing is too painful!!!
