[Qatar's Exports Disrupted, Pakistan Urgently Procures Liquefied Natural Gas] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 30, due to the ongoing tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, Qatar's liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports to Pakistan were disrupted. In response, Pakistan urgently purchased a batch of spot-delivered LNG this week. Informed traders revealed that on Monday, Pakistan LNG Limited purchased supplies for delivery between June 30 and July 4 from BP at a price of $16.74 per million British thermal units (MMBtu). On the same day, the spot price in the Asian market was around $15 per MMBtu. This emergency procurement highlights that buyers still cannot rely on the normal navigation of the Strait of Hormuz. On Saturday, a ship carrying Qatari oil was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, and just days earlier, a Singapore-flagged container ship was also attacked. Shipping data indicates that since then, Qatar's LNG trade via the Strait of Hormuz appears to have been interrupted.
