U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 to allow Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook, who was fired by President Trump in August 2025, to remain on the Fed Board while litigation continues to challenge Trump's ability to dismiss her. Justice Roberts wrote for the majority in Trump v. Cook which was argued January 21: "Whether a Governor should be 'removed for cause' is a decision only the President can make (short of impeachment). But that does not mean that he may make that decision for any reason, or no reason." https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25pdf/25a312_5468.pdf(Craig Caplan)
