JPMorgan: Institutional investors have limited interest in perpetual futures

JPMorgan stated that customer research shows that institutions have limited interest in perpetual futures, apart from speculative trading. JPMorgan cited basis risk, lack of term structure and physical delivery, and liquidation concerns as the main obstacles to adopting perpetual futures, and pointed out that offshore perpetual contract trading is dominated by a few large participants and has scalability issues.
