Loopring closes Loopring DEX and returns user assets

Ethereum Layer 2 protocol Loopring announced on the X platform that Loopring DEX will immediately cease all trading services and the relay will be taken offline. The Loopring team stated that the reason for the closure was that Loopring DEX failed to gain meaningful adoption. As the first zkRollup, the lack of virtual machines limited ecological growth, and LRC was taken down by major exchanges in 2026, which accelerated the outcome. The modern zkEVM solution made Loopring's dedicated architecture appear outdated.
