[US Media: US and Iran Agree to Cease Attacks, Meeting Scheduled in Qatar This Week]
According to a report by Jinse Finance on June 29, citing AXIOS, a senior U.S. official stated that the United States and Iran have agreed to stop mutual attacks. Both parties plan to meet on Tuesday in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to address disputes concerning the Strait of Hormuz.
Previously, just 11 days after signing a ceasefire memorandum, both sides launched attacks again, with Trump threatening to restart the war and "finish the job," pushing the situation to a precarious state. A senior U.S. official remarked, "We have decided to halt all military actions," using military terminology to refer to attacks and other offensive operations.
According to a source familiar with the talks, the meeting originally scheduled for Tuesday in Switzerland was intended to address Iran's nuclear program. However, following the escalation of tensions, the meeting location was changed, and the focus shifted back to the Strait of Hormuz.
A U.S. official and an informed source revealed that Nick Stewart, who leads the U.S. technical team, is expected to participate in the talks. (Jin10)
