Today, I was pleased to deliver the Presidential Address at the Suriname Energy, Oil and Gas Summit & Exhibition (SEOGS) 2026. The Caribbean stands at a pivotal moment in its history. With greater cooperation and responsible leadership, we can build a more resilient and prosperous future. Among Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, and perhaps, in time, others, this region holds world-class resources. That opens an opportunity we have never had before: energy security supplied from within our own family. Producers can supply reliable oil and gas at fair and predictable prices, while island nations are given the runway to scale the renewable energy solutions that suit them best. This is what economic integration was always meant to deliver. Now, we have an opportunity to make energy the strongest thread binding our single market together.(Andrew Holness)
