[SBI Officially Launches Japan's First Trust Bank-Custodied Compliant Yen Stablecoin JPYSC] Japanese financial group SBI, in collaboration with Singapore fintech company Startale, has officially issued the trust-structured yen stablecoin JPYSC. The reserve assets are custodied by SBI Shinsei Trust Bank, while issuance and circulation are managed by SBI VC Trade. SBI states that JPYSC is Japan's first yen stablecoin custodied by a trust bank and classified as an 'electronic payment instrument' under the Payment Services Act, exempt from the previous ¥1 million per transaction and balance cap for fund transfer-type stablecoins. SBI anticipates that JPYSC can serve as a yen-based asset for on-chain forex, institutional lending, and RWA settlements. Currently, it is only available to SBI VC Trade account users, with plans to introduce JPYSC lending services on the exchange in the future.
