Cullen Roberts, Director of Wealth Advisory at BlackRock in the United States, believes that investing 1% -2% of total assets in Bitcoin is reasonable. For decades, investors have relied on stocks as a traditional asset to pursue growth, and bonds to provide stability. As digital assets continue to gain popularity, a question arises: what role should they play in investment portfolios? We (BlackRock) believe that the unique attributes of Bitcoin: native make it an attractive addition to investment portfolios. Bitcoin does indeed have volatility. However, although Bitcoin may be considered a "high-risk" asset when viewed separately, the risks it carries are to some extent different from those of stocks and bonds. The value of Bitcoin is rooted in people's shared belief and demand for a digital, decentralized global currency alternative. Therefore, adding it to traditional investment portfolios has complementarity from the perspective of risk diversification. Over time, as the adoption threshold for Bitcoin continues to decrease, we see its value continue to rise. In addition, factors driving the popularity and adoption of Bitcoin include the market's interest in sound alternative currency systems and the growing general preference for digital investment. However, how much Bitcoin exposure should be allocated in the investment portfolio? Although there is no one size fits all answer, research by BlackRock Investment Research has found that moderate allocation (typically around 1-2%) in a diversified investment portfolio may have a positive impact on portfolio returns without dominating daily risk. Placing this in the context of a 60/40 investment portfolio, the contribution of 1-2% Bitcoin allocation to overall portfolio risk is roughly equivalent to the average risk contribution level of one of the so-called "Big Seven" (Mag 7) stocks. Therefore, for investors who believe in the digital transformation of currency, are optimistic about the growth of blockchain technology adoption, and can withstand certain volatility, Bitcoin can be seen as a striking supplement and a unique investment portfolio diversification tool.
