[Over 400 Oil Tankers Stranded at the Strait of Hormuz Awaiting Reopening]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, satellite data from the European Space Agency on June 23 shows that as of the afternoon of the 21st, approximately 441 large oil tanker-class vessels were gathered in the waters near Oman’s Sohar Port and the UAE’s Fujairah Port, waiting for the Strait of Hormuz to reopen following negotiations between Iran and the United States. This number is significantly higher than normal levels but has decreased by 42 vessels compared to five days ago. After Iran and the United States previously announced reaching a memorandum of understanding, some shipping companies temporarily resumed navigation amid eased tensions. However, following Israel's attack on Lebanon, Iran once again announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. On the morning of the 22nd, a total of four Qatari liquefied natural gas carriers passed through the Strait of Hormuz, marking the highest single-day figure since the U.S.-Israel-Iran conflict erupted at the end of February.
