There is an organized campaign to force banks to de-bank contractors helping ICE with deportations. CoreCivic, a private prison company, partners with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to build, own, and operate immigrant detention facilities. There are roughly 60 activist groups, well funded, that are pressuring Citizens Bank to cut off banking services to CoreCivic. CoreCivic is doing legal work contracted by the federal government. Who is funding and coordinating this effort? This is clearly a well funded operation. It is not grassroots. They have websites, toolkits, operations in a dozen states. CoreCivic has already been banned by 70% of the banks in the USA and now Citizens Bank is being targeted. If a mob can de-bank a lawful federal contractor over politics, no business is safe.
