According to CryptoQuant, Bitcoin network activity has risen to about 7% below the all-time high recorded in September 2024 and has broken above the long-term trendline for the first time since mid-2024. Since 2026, daily Bitcoin transactions have exceeded 800,000, doubling from the lows of 2025.
CryptoQuant points out that this surge in activity is primarily driven by microtransactions under 0.01 BTC, rather than large economic payments. Transactions below 0.001 BTC and 0.01 BTC now account for approximately 80% of daily transaction volume, up from about 44% in 2023. This is closely tied to near-record-high usage of OP_RETURN, mainly driven by activities like Runes, Ordinals, BRC-20, and data timestamping services. Currently, Bitcoin's mempool has around 128,000 pending transactions, the highest since February 2025. If this expansion continues, it could increase fee pressure for time-sensitive transactions. https://(wublock123.com)/news/cryptoquant-bitcoin-network-activity-nears-all-time-highs-microtransaction-surge-63106
