Anthropic sued: accused of high priced AI subscriptions with 'inflated usage limits'
On June 15th, according to WSJ, Anthropic, an artificial intelligence company, is facing a federal lawsuit accusing it of "misleading usage limits" in its high priced Claude subscription plan. The lawsuit was filed by Washington D.C. user Karl Kahn and seeks class action eligibility, applicable to the user group that has purchased the relevant services since April last year. The plaintiff claims that Anthropic may have made exaggerated or misleading descriptions of the actual available usage and limitations in its premium subscription plans, including the "Max 5x" and "Max 20x" packages, which cost approximately $200 per month, thereby affecting user decisions. At present, the lawsuit is still in its early stages and has not yet entered substantive proceedings. Anthropic has not yet made a public response to the allegations. Analysis suggests that if this case enters the class action litigation process, it may trigger further market attention to the "transparency of computing power quotas" for AI subscription products, and create potential regulatory pressure on high-end AI pricing models. ---------------------------------Click on the original link below to join the Beating · Feishu AI news channel, which continuously monitors global AI hotspots and news 24/7.
