[Reuters: Zuckerberg Admits to Mistakes in Meta's Transition to AI, Promises No More Mass Layoffs This Year]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on June 14, according to Reuters, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated in an internal memo to employees that Meta made some mistakes during its push for AI transformation through layoffs and job adjustments. He noted that organizational changes are inherently complex, and the company may still encounter new errors in the future, but it will strive to improve the stability of the adjustment process.
In May this year, Meta laid off about 10% of its workforce while reallocating approximately 7,000 employees to AI-related roles to support model training and the development of artificial intelligence businesses. This is also a key part of Meta's ongoing AI strategy.
Zuckerberg stated that the company does not anticipate conducting company-wide layoffs again this year and will make every effort to find new internal positions for employees reassigned to AI projects to minimize the impact of organizational changes on staff.
