[Report: UAE Agrees to Unfreeze Billions of Dollars for Iran] June 13 – According to Reuters, sources revealed that during the U.S. and Israel's conflict with Iran, and after Iran carried out weeks of consecutive attacks on the UAE, the UAE has agreed to unfreeze billions of dollars in Iranian funds. The UAE has agreed to release a total of $10 billion, with over $3 billion already delivered. Other sources indicated that the total amount involved is $20 billion, and this move was reached as part of a deal in exchange for Iran halting its attacks on the UAE. Iran's last direct attack on the UAE occurred on May 4. Sources stated that this action by the UAE provides a way to help resolve the conflict between the U.S. and Iran while ensuring that neither side crosses its own red lines: Iran can claim it secured compensation for war damages, Washington can maintain that it did not pay any funds, and the UAE ensures its own security while preserving Dubai's status as a hub, framing the move as an investment in rebuilding regional trust. In exchange, Iran will cease missile and drone attacks on the UAE, and the two sides will rebuild bilateral relations, including intelligence sharing and economic cooperation. Sources added that Iran has approached at least two other Gulf Arab states regarding similar arrangements.
