[Large IPO Candidate Companies Like SpaceX May Need to Wait Several Years to Be Included in the S&P 500 Index]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow on June 8, Bloomberg reported that large IPO candidate companies, including SpaceX, may need to wait several years before being included in the S&P 500 Index. The reason is that S&P Dow Jones Indices has refused to relax the inclusion criteria for index components, maintaining the requirement that companies must achieve positive net income over the past year (including the most recent quarter). This decision, made by its index committee after a month-long deliberation, means that large newly listed companies that have not yet met the sustained profitability condition will find it difficult to enter the index in the short term.
