[CME CEO Expresses Serious Concerns Over New 'Perpetual Contracts'] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 5, CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) CEO Terry Duffy stated that he is 'very concerned' about the rise of so-called 'perpetual futures.' Perpetual futures are an increasingly popular financial contract that recently received critical approval from U.S. regulators. Duffy pointed out that the 'perpetual contracts' offer little practical use for institutional investors, while exposing retail traders to excessive risk. Duffy said: 'I have serious concerns about the structural design of these contracts. I do not want to see people who lack understanding of these products ultimately forced out due to liquidation, as they should not have been involved in such contracts in the first place.'
