It is reported that xAI has suspended the recruitment of "AI mentors" for training Grok According to a report by Golden Finance, on June 3rd, sources familiar with the matter revealed that xAI, a subsidiary of Musk, has temporarily suspended the recruitment of professionals for training Grok, indicating a possible shift in its approach to developing technology. Since the beginning of this year, xAI has been working hard to recruit accountants, financial experts, scientists, and even comedians to teach Grok how to excel in various aspects from taxation to humor, in order to expand the appeal of this chatbot. This approach differs from competitors who typically rely heavily on a large number of contract workers from third-party companies for training and optimizing their artificial intelligence models. According to informed sources, xAI has decided to suspend recruitment for these positions (internally referred to as "AI mentors"), at least in part due to concerns that the company's human resources department may be overwhelmed and unable to handle new job openings. According to sources, xAI laid off several AI mentors last fall, many of whom were versatile talents. Subsequently, xAI attempted to recruit more personnel specialized in data annotation work. These individuals also stated that xAI conducted another round of layoffs in early March, while other teams also made personnel cuts.
