[Trump Administration Appeals Court Ruling Requiring Refund of IEEPA Tariffs]
Jin10 News, June 3 – The Trump administration has officially filed an appeal against a judge's ruling. The ruling mandates customs authorities to refund a total of $166 billion in global tariffs to all importers, after the U.S. Supreme Court earlier this year declared these tariffs to be unlawfully imposed. On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of Justice submitted a notice of appeal to the U.S. Court of International Trade. Government attorneys previously stated that they would escalate this refund dispute, arguing that the judge does not have the authority to order refunds to all importers who paid the tariffs, regardless of whether those importers had filed lawsuits to recover the funds.
