[Hong Kong SFC Urges Licensed Firms to Guard Against AI-Driven Emerging Cyber Threats] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on June 2, the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) issued a circular urging licensed firms to strengthen cybersecurity measures to address emerging threats driven by advanced artificial intelligence models. As cyberattacks continue to evolve in Hong Kong and globally, AI-driven cyber threats have garnered significant attention. Notably, the total number of cyberattack incidents in Hong Kong recorded double-digit growth last year. In light of this, the SFC warned licensed firms in the circular that the rapid evolution of advanced AI models could lead to more frequent, targeted, and sophisticated cyberattacks, potentially causing significant operational disruptions and risks to licensed firms, their employees, and clients.
