A quarter of the large oil tankers affected by the Iran conflict have successfully sailed out of the strait
According to BlockBeats, on May 29th, about a quarter of the non Iranian large oil tankers stranded in the Persian Gulf at the beginning of the Iran conflict have gradually escaped through slow and covert means and successfully sailed out of the area. According to shipping data compiled by Bloomberg, after the conflict broke out on February 28th and the Strait of Hormuz was effectively closed, a total of 109 large vessels (i.e. ships with a carrying capacity of 700000 barrels or more) were stranded; Now, 29 of them have successfully crossed this strategic throat. Although these leaked goods only account for a very small portion of the total amount of crude oil and refined oil still stranded in the Gulf, they are quickly sold out by the market as soon as they flow out, against the backdrop of the global market inventory buffer shrinking at a record pace. In addition, given that many ships have turned off their location broadcast devices to avoid risks, the actual number of successfully evacuated ships is likely to be higher than the above statistics.
