Manus plans to raise $1 billion for repurchase business after being acquired and revoked by Meta, and seeks to list in Hong Kong
According to Bloomberg, the three founders of Manus are exploring various options to meet Beijing's demand for the cancellation of its acquisition by Meta, including raising approximately $1 billion in funding from external investors to repurchase the Chinese startup's agentic AI business at a valuation not lower than Meta's initial acquisition price of $2 billion. According to informed sources, the founder may pay the difference out of their own pocket and plan to establish a joint venture with new investors in China before applying for listing in Hong Kong. At present, negotiations are still in the early stages and there are still multiple obstacles, including how to separate the deeply integrated Manus technology and team from the Meta system, as well as the specific arrangements for the transaction structure.
