Map Protocol Cross Chain Bridge Attacked, Attackers Profit About $110000

According to Blockaid monitoring, the Map Protocol/Button Network cross chain bridge has been attacked on Ethereum and BSC. The attacker induced the Butterfly Bridge V3.1 contract to mint approximately 100 trillion MAPO tokens on newly created EOA addresses, which is about 4.8 million times the legal supply of 208 million tokens. According to the monitoring of the DeFi community YAM, the attacker has profited about 52.2 ETH (approximately $110000). MAP Protocol stated that the team is investigating and containing the incident with external security partners, and has suspended the bridging of MAPO ERC-20 with the mainnet, and reminded not to trade MAPO ERC-20 tokens on Uniswap.
