Nowadays, it is common to see various fake images created by AI, which has led to a problem of how to detect real images. In fact, using AI to detect AI is like the relationship between a spear and a shield, which is basically a dead end because the cost of defense is always higher than the cost of fraud. So Brevis' Vera product launched is an attempt to do "proof of origin" from the source, using cryptography to prove that photos were taken in the physical world, adding a layer of zero knowledge proof (ZK) to the existing camera anti-counterfeiting standard (C2PA) At present, this thing has evolved from a concept demonstration in March to a practical tool officially launched. Although there is a certain threshold for use at present, the prerequisite is that you need hardware devices that support C2PA to run the entire process from shooting to verification. But if we set aside the current hardware penetration rate, simply looking at its logic of using ZK to delve into the C2PA protocol layer for source authentication and privacy protection, it is indeed much more hardcore than the post verification tools on the market now
