House next week will consider bipartisan legislation, passed by the Senate by unanimous consent Thursday, that would allow U.S. Capitol Police officers to apply to extend their service until age 62. The House passed its own version of the bill last month allowing them to retire at age 65. House members are scheduled to debate the Senate-passed version by Rules Chair McConnell on Tuesday under suspension of the rules, needing 2/3rds vote for passage if a recorded vote is requested.(Craig Caplan)
