Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on May 14, according to Decrypt, X platform user 'Cprkrn' stated that Anthropic's Claude assisted in recovering a Bitcoin wallet that had been dormant for nearly 9 years. The wallet contained approximately 5 BTC, valued at around $400,000. On-chain data shows that the wallet, starting with the address '14VJyS,' had not conducted any transactions since 2015 until today. The report noted that existing screenshots do not indicate that Claude cracked Bitcoin's underlying encryption but more likely assisted in analyzing encrypted wallet files, mnemonic clues, and the password recovery process. Previously, Cprkrn had attempted to use btcrecover and Hashcat to recover the wallet but was unsuccessful. Industry experts believe this case is more akin to historical data organization and forensic analysis rather than directly 'cracking' Bitcoin encryption.
