[CoW DAO Domain Hijacking Incident Compensation Plan Approved, Affected Users Must File Claims by May 14]
Reported by Jinse Finance, on May 12, CoW DAO announced that its domain registrar suffered a social engineering attack on April 14. The attacker briefly controlled the official domain for approximately 4.5 hours and during this period redirected users to a phishing website, tricking them into signing malicious transactions.
The project team emphasized that the CoW Protocol itself was not breached, but some users' assets were affected during this time window. In response to the incident, the CoW DAO community governance proposal CIP-86 has been approved, authorizing the establishment of a discretionary compensation fund to reimburse affected users for their losses. The official notice reminds eligible users to submit their claims by May 14.
