Will blue-collar workers also be replaced by AI, just at a slower pace?
A small incident: the bathroom door suddenly wouldn’t open in the middle of the night. I fiddled with it for ages but couldn’t fix it. Desperate, I had a lightbulb moment—took a photo + wrote a description and sent it to GPT. It first comforted me, explained the possible reasons for similar issues in Hong Kong, and then gave me step-by-step instructions in plain language. In the end, the door opened instantly. Practical + emotional support maxed out. I was screaming inside: GPT, you’re my god!
Also, for badminton training, I was wondering if I could record videos and have an AI coach analyze, guide, and help me improve. Of course, there are also some AI machines. People often say standardized + low-risk tasks are suitable for AI, but that doesn’t really hold up. For example, in war scenarios, AI machines are a perfect fit. I don’t even want to call them robots here because machines are enough—there’s no need for the “human” element.
I also saw a news story saying robot chefs in Chinese restaurants have already started being used on a large scale. A junior chef can now manage five robot chefs.
