**[Trump Administration Halts Wind Power Approvals, About 165 Projects Affected]**
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on May 3, the Trump administration halted the development of onshore wind power projects in the United States, citing national security concerns. This marks a significant escalation in Trump's opposition to renewable energy. According to the American Clean Power Association and informed sources, the U.S. Department of Defense is suspending approvals for approximately 165 onshore wind power projects on private land. These include wind farms awaiting final approval, projects in the middle of negotiations, and some projects that typically do not require oversight from the Department of Defense.
Among the affected projects, 35 have completed negotiations and are awaiting approval from the Department of Defense. Developers and consultants have indicated that more projects are currently facing delays: 30 projects have completed negotiations and received verbal approval but are awaiting written confirmation; about 50 projects are in the negotiation phase; and another 50 projects, which might have previously been declared low-risk, are also impacted. These wind farms could have generated 30 million kilowatts of electricity, enough to power 15 million households. *(Financial Times)*
