[POSCO International Issues $100 Million Digital Bond]
According to Golden Finance, on April 30, South Korean trading giant POSCO International participated in two significant blockchain projects over the past week. On April 28, the company issued HK$780 million ($100 million) in digital bonds in Hong Kong. Additionally, the company collaborated with Hana Financial Group and Dunamu, the operator of cryptocurrency exchange Upbit, to develop cross-border payment services.
The two-year digital bond was issued via HSBC's Orion blockchain platform, with HSBC serving as the sole lead underwriter for this private placement. Earlier, South Korea's Mirae Asset Securities issued the country's first digital bond on the Orion platform in January this year. This issuance benefited from government subsidies currently offered to digital bond issuers.
