If you’re running MOTS-c, here are a few suggestions: - Many start at 2.5–5mg (for the week) to dial in tolerance. No need to go nuclear right away. I personally started with 1mg daily 5x a week but I’m also very aware of my body. This is potent mitochondrial signaling stuff. It’s not like daily GH peptides. The effects build over days/weeks! - Time it right and pair with clean eating and movement. SubQ injection works great in the morning on an empty stomach or 60–90 min before training (rotate sites from abdomen, thighs, love handles). That lines up with its natural exercise-induced spike and AMPK activation. High-protein diet, controlled carbs around workouts, and plenty of fiber/veggies help it shine. MOTS-c improves insulin sensitivity and glucose uptake in muscle while boosting fat oxidation. However, keep it mind that it’s not magic. You still have to eat like you’re optimizing mitochondria, not feeding a food truck. - TRAIN HARD. This is literally an “exercise mimetic.” Animal studies show it dramatically improves endurance and physical performance even in older models by regulating skeletal muscle metabolism and nuclear gene expression. Smash your resistance training 4–5x a week (progressive overload) and a bit of steady cardio or zone 2. You’ll notice better metabolic flexibility, easier fat loss (especially when stacked with diet) and preserved muscle. 10k steps daily is ideal. - Sleep and recovery are still king. MOTS-c helps with cellular energy and stress adaptation (via AMPK and antioxidant response elements), but protect your sleep. I aim for 8+ hours a night. Some run it alongside NAD+ for next-level mitochondrial synergy. I don’t have any personal experience with this but I hear it’s very effective. - Watch the minor side effects and stay ahead. Generally very well-tolerated (far fewer sides than many peptides). The only one I experienced was mild injection site reactions. A few self-experimenters noted temporary fatigue, headaches, or heart palpitations when first starting or at higher doses. Ease in, stay hydrated, and electrolytes help. Get baseline labs (fasting glucose, insulin, lipids, inflammatory markers) if you’re running longer cycles. Long-term human safety data is still limited. It’s a research peptide! If you take MOTS-c and feel tired your mitochondria may be depleted. Taking a peptide like SS-31 may be more beneficial to build that mitochondria up. - Pairs beautifully with Retatrutide for accelerated fat loss and metabolic health without muscle sacrifice. It’s not a GH secretagogue like Tesamorelin, but it complements body recomp stacks extremely well. MOTS-c is one of the most exciting mitochondrial-derived peptides out right now. It literally helps your cells talk better under metabolic stress, improves insulin sensitivity, boosts exercise capacity, and supports healthy aging pathways. When you actually train hard and eat right, the results are legit.(CryptoDaddi)
