According to *Le Monde*, Vanessa Perrée, head of France's National Anti-Organized Crime Prosecutor's Office, stated that kidnapping cases related to crypto assets are expanding. Out of 12 cases, 88 individuals have been prosecuted, including over 10 minors, with 75 currently in custody awaiting trial. Since 2023, law enforcement has recorded 135 related cases, including 18 in 2024, 67 in 2025, and 47 so far in 2026, showing a rapid growth trend. These cases often involve kidnapping or illegal detention, sometimes accompanied by violence, with demands for ransom payments or crypto asset transfers.
