The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department has announced sanctions against Cambodian Senator Kok An, accusing him of controlling a "fraud park" and defrauding US victims of funds through cryptocurrency investment scams. OFAC stated that Kok An and 28 related individuals and entities have been included in the sanctions list, with a total amount of $2 million involved. Fraudsters gain trust by establishing "friendships" or "romantic relationships" and guide victims to participate in fake cryptocurrency investment platforms. Some fraudsters are victims of human trafficking and are forced to engage in illegal activities. In addition, regulatory agencies have seized over 500 fake website domain names.
