According to The Block, progress has been made on the issue of stablecoin rewards under the US Crypto Market Structure Act, and negotiations have entered a "good state". Senators Angela Alssobrooks and Thom Tillis are working on resolving a provision in the GENIUS bill that prohibits stablecoin issuers from paying interest, which does not restrict platforms such as Coinbase from offering rewards. The banking industry believes that such returns will affect deposit inflows, while cryptocurrency companies are concerned that restricting rewards will inhibit innovation. The spokesperson stated that illegal finance and ethical issues still need to be resolved, and Alssobrooks is more focused on substance rather than timeline.
