Base Azul testing online, main network activation scheduled for May 2026

According to official information from Base, its first independent network upgrade, Base Azul, has been launched on the test network and is scheduled to activate the main network on May 13, 2026. Azul will enhance security, performance, and developer experience, including enabling multiple proof mechanisms, making base truth node the only executing client, and adopting the latest execution layer specification Osaka consistent with Ethereum. Users do not need to take any action. In addition, Base plans to conduct performance and user experience upgrades by the end of June and August respectively, and will launch the developer public network Base Vibenet in mid May.
