[Paraguayan Police Seize $400,000 in Cryptocurrency from Teenage Hacker Group]
Odaily Planet Daily News: Paraguayan police have arrested 10 suspects aged between 18 and 20, accused of stealing $1.2 million from hundreds of bank accounts and digital wallets. Authorities confiscated $400,000 worth of cryptocurrency, which the group allegedly used for money laundering. The group recruited 400 money mules to provide personal information and bank accounts, converting stolen funds into cryptocurrency after draining victims' accounts. The suspects reportedly purchased cryptocurrency at two to three times the market price to expedite transactions, raising suspicions among investors who reported the activity to the police. Investigations revealed the group's leader is an 18-year-old male, and multiple arrest warrants have been issued by the court.
