[First Batch of Large Oil Tankers Pass Through 'Alternative Route' to Exit Hormuz Strait, Iranian Container Terminal Resumes Operations] Reported by Golden Finance, on April 11, according to Caixin, as the United States and Iran are about to begin negotiations in Islamabad, Pakistan, passage through the Hormuz Strait has preliminarily resumed, and Iranian container ports have also started resuming operations. On April 11, the 300,000-ton ultra-large crude carrier (VLCC) 'SERIFOS,' owned by renowned Greek shipowner Aeolos, crossed the Hormuz Strait from the Persian Gulf. Fully loaded with Saudi crude oil, it is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia in late April. Unlike ships that previously passed through, the 'SERIFOS' utilized Iran's newly announced 'alternative route' for the Hormuz Strait, becoming the first international large oil tanker to pass through this new route. Following closely behind, the Indian-flagged large liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier 'JAG VIKRAM' also passed through Iran's 'alternative route' to exit the Hormuz Strait and return home. This marks the departure of the last large Indian LPG carrier stranded within the strait.
