NO TRUER WORDS HAVE BEEN SAID
Vote ALL the bums out - regardless of party affiliation.
Here’s an easy first step:
Anyone who’s been in Congress for more than 12 years (2 Senate terms/6 House terms) gets voted out.
It would roughly get 120–150 incumbents out of office.
Here’s my political opponent’s LIFELONG CAREER in politics:
@SenMarkey served in the MA House of Representatives from 1973 to 1976 and then won a special election to the U.S. House in November 1976.
His precise timeline:
- 1973–1976: MA State House (3 years);
- 1976–2013: U.S. House of Representatives (37 years);
- 2013–present: U.S. Senate (13+ years).
That’s FIFTY-THREE (53) YEARS in elected office.
He’s been a government employee his entire adult life - never spent a single year in the private sector after law school.
IN OTHER WORDS:
Ed Markey has drawn a government paycheck since Gerald Ford was president.
He’s never had to make a payroll or never worried about a utility bill he couldn’t pay.
HE’S NEVER FACED THE ECONOMY HE CREATED.
Voters were born, grew up, had kids, and those kids grew up - all while Ed Markey was cashing a government paycheck.
I’m not running against Ed Markey the man - I’m running against the institution he’s become.
In fact, Markey’s first run for the State House came when he was a Boston College law student in 1972 - meaning he started running for office before he even had his law degree. Politics was never a second career for Markey. It was the only career, from day one.
I grew up in poverty. The first one to graduate high school in my family. Worked my way through college and law school. Served 7 years of active duty in the Marine Corps. Overcame cancer. Went in huge debt to start a business. I’ve cut payroll checks - provided health benefits for employees.
That’s the contrast. I’m an attorney who built something. Markey’s a man who’s never even left the building.
