[Federal Reserve's Goolsbee: Stagflation Shock Triggered by Iran Conflict Puts Fed in a Dilemma]
According to a report by Golden Finance, on April 8, Federal Reserve's Goolsbee stated that he is concerned the Iran war will not only drag down economic growth but also push up inflation, placing the Federal Reserve in a tricky situation as there is no clear 'operating manual' to guide how it should respond. Goolsbee said: 'What worries me most right now is that we must deal with the impending oil crisis, which will cause prices to rise in the form of stagflation. Tariffs once caused prices to soar, but prices were supposed to gradually fall back, and now the shock is hitting before the previous impact has even subsided.'
