[F2Pool Co-Founder Wang Chun: Bitcoin Protocol Upgrades Should Not Be Forced Through Like 'Omnibus Bills'] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on April 4, F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun posted on the X platform, stating that Bitcoin protocol upgrades should not adopt the approach of 'omnibus bills' used by U.S. politicians to force changes. This is also a key reason for his opposition to BIP-110 and BIP-54. Several discussed issues lack actual urgency: for instance, 'Timewarp attacks,' while long-standing, provide no substantial benefit to miners' revenue; block validation efficiency has already significantly improved due to libsecp256k1 and hardware upgrades, making protocol-level adjustments unnecessary; and 'forged confirmed transactions' fundamentally rely on breaking double SHA256 collisions, which, if achieved, would signify a breach of Bitcoin's core security. Wang Chun added that the aforementioned issues are insufficient to justify protocol modifications. Currently, only the issue of 'duplicate transactions' holds some value for rectification and might be one of the few changes worth implementing.
