DefiLlama: Hackers stole $169 million in cryptocurrency in the first quarter

According to DefiLama data, in the first quarter of 2026, hackers stole over $168.6 million in cryptocurrency from 34 DeFi protocols, a significant decrease compared to the same period last year. Among them, the January StepFinance private key leak worth $40 million was the biggest security vulnerability, and another smart contract manipulation incident resulted in the theft of $26.4 million worth of Ethereum. On March 21, the ResolvLabs stablecoin private key leak ranked third.
