The US Department of Justice sues personnel from four cryptocurrency market making institutions, including Gottit, for alleged washout trading

On April 1st, the Northern California Prosecutor's Office of the US Department of Justice announced that 10 executives and employees from four cryptocurrency market makers, Gottit, Vortex, Antier, and Contrarian, have been charged with allegedly artificially inflating token trading volume and prices through washout transactions. Three of the defendants have been extradited from Singapore to the United States, and two others have pleaded guilty and been sentenced. The FBI and the Criminal Investigation Department of the Internal Revenue Service have created multiple encrypted tokens in an undercover operation to investigate illegal volume manipulation and high selling behavior, and have currently seized over $1 million in encrypted assets.
