OneKey Founder: 'Google 2029 Deadline' is just an internal migration target, unrelated to when Bitcoin might be cracked by quantum computing. OneKey founder Yishi tweeted that the so-called 'Google 2029 Deadline' is merely an internal migration goal and has no direct connection to when Bitcoin could be compromised by quantum computing. Linking the two is misleading. Yishi stated that the claim '6.26 million BTC are at risk' is inaccurate. Only early P2PK addresses that have long exposed their public keys are vulnerable. Standard addresses, if not reused, do not expose public keys. Including all addresses in the risk calculation is an exaggeration. Additionally, he emphasized that Bitcoin uses signatures, not encryption, so there’s no 'store now, break later' attack path. Current quantum devices only have a few thousand noisy qubits, while cracking ECDSA would require millions of stable qubits. He noted that while the quantum threat is real, it is not imminent. The Bitcoin community is already working on post-quantum cryptography solutions, so there’s no need for panic-driven narratives. #Bitcoin #Crypto #QuantumComputing #ECDSA #OneKey
