Expanded to 10+ exchanges, the daily trading volume of CEX TradFi perpetual contracts has stabilized between $10–15 billion, with a single-day peak this Monday exceeding $24 billion.
Precious metals like XAU, XAG, and XAUT account for over 90% of the trading volume in CEX TradFi perpetual contracts. On the other hand, WTI and BRENT crude oil, which are popular on Perp DEX platforms like Hyperliquid HIP-3, still see relatively low trading volumes on CEX. The main reason is that Binance has yet to support crude oil trading.
Stock assets are the second-largest trading category for CEX TradFi perpetual contracts, making up about 5% of the volume. However, user interest hasn’t fully opened up yet, with trading mainly concentrated on U.S. stocks familiar to crypto users, such as TSLA, CRCL, and MSTR.
It’s worth noting that this data does not include CFDs. The data source is from CEX APIs, and some CEX platforms may have slight discrepancies.
